Running, jumping and dancing
One of Tara's health carer's mentioned that I should keep a diary of her progress, so that I can track peaks and troughs. I thought that was a lovely idea - then forgot all about it! But now I've remembered - what better format than a blog?
Tara is doing really really well and looks tremendously healthy. She's started to run and jump, and she's back dancing - thankfully she's got decent taste and enjoys 6Music. We do notice that her squint is still apparent (particularly when she first wakes up), despite her being fitted with glasses to correct it, but tomorrow we go the Sussex Eye Hospital for a check up, so I guess we'll find out more about her eyes then.
We do still get the odd wobble (mostly when she turns), and that leads to the ocassional small accident which mostly involves her banging her head! That probably aint good, what with the shunt and all, but at least we're learning that she aint so fragile!
We nearly had a major accident this morning - I heard a thump then tears from the girls' bedroom, and after rushing upstairs I found Tara had fallen out of her sister's slide bed onto a cupboard! My heart missed a beat, I can tell you - if that cupboard wasn't there it would've been quite a fall.
So we mustn't be complacent - she's doing so well it's easy to forget that she needs to be kept under pretty close supervision for a little while yet, particular whilst she's still just a bit unsteady....
