About Us

This site contains a story of hope, as it documents Tara Huckle's remarkable progress back to full health after a life-threatening illness.

Tara was rushed to King's College Hospital, London, UK on 6th August 2009 suffering from a tennis ball sized brain tumour that was preventing fluid draining from her brain properly. She was just 2-years old at the time, and a tumour that size in one so small was putting her in grave danger.

Thankfully, due to the brilliant care  received at King's College Hospital, London, UK, she survived the ordeal, and has since prospered. And so this site's primary intention is to raise money for the hospital to help fund their wonderful services. It is also a means of expressing the families gratitude to all those who have heard Tara's story and sent the family good wishes.

But the site also intends to raise awareness of paediatric brain tumor's, about which very little is known as to their cause (and hence their prevention).

So tarastale.org is a site dedicated to all that is good with the human spirit - to show that there can be good outcomes from difficult circumstance. Hence, tarastale.org is a positive place. It is a haven of joy.
